Heavy Strider

A small but fast creature capable of chasing down prospectors, biting and slashing them with its claws. Like every hostile creature they will attack you on sight or upon hearing a sound, such as a gunshot.

The Heavy Strider is a grey Strider with stronger statistics like health, speed, and damage across the board. Instead of the drop Strider Head Heavy Striders can drop Heavy Strider Head and instead of the drop Strider Flesh Heavy Striders can drop Heavy Strider Flesh.

Behaviour

When there are no prospectors nearby the Heavy Strider can do two different actions. The first is sleeping on the ground for some time, from which it wakes up from upon hearing a sound. Alternatively the Heavy Strider can roam around an area, effectively patrolling it.

When a Heavy Strider sees or hears a prospector nearby it barks at the prospector, alerting other Creatures nearby of the prospectors presence. When other creatures are alerted in this way they start attacking the prospector. Any Strider that is asleep nearby will be woken up and also start attacking the prospector. After finishing the barking it will come chasing after the prospector.

Combat

If the Heavy Strider reaches a prospector it will attack them with bite and slash attacks. A Strider cannot jump or climb, which means that a prospector can stand on a ledge or object and the Strider will not be able reach them.

Strider Variants

The Strider has one variant, the Strider.

Strider

The Strider has worse statistics like health, speed, and damage across the board. Instead of the drop Heavy Strider Head Striders can drop Strider Head and instead of the drop Heavy Strider Flesh Striders can drop Strider Flesh.
