Data Drive is a Common item found as loot on Fortuna III or bought from the store at ICA.

A data drive. Data can be improved at an Uplink, or the drive exchanged for K-Marks.

Data Drives come in 5 different levels of rarity: Common > Uncommon > Rare > Epic > Legendary

The "Epic" rarity Data Drive is identified on its item card - and in jobs and campaign missions - as "Valuable Data Drive".

The "Legendary" rarity Data Drive is identified on its item card - and in jobs and campaign missions - as "Unique Data Drive".

Where to obtain Data Drives

Upon reaching level 3 with ICA, the ICA Market will allow you to buy Common Data Drives. You can also find any rarity of Data Drive out in Fortuna III; however, most prospectors would rather buy them.

Uses

Data drives are used for certain Jobs and Missions for the ICA, and for upgrading at a Uplink Station for profit or for aforementioned quests.

How to upgrade Data Drives

  1. Buy a Data Drive from ICA Market, or find one on Fortuna III.
  2. Put the Data Drive inside your backpack.
  3. Deploy into Fortuna III
  4. Go to your preferred Data Uplink sight.
  5. Stick the Data Drive in the socket then start the machine.
  6. After reaching your desired Rarity extract your improved Data Drive.

Time for each upgrade:

  • Common to Uncommon: 30 seconds
  • Uncommon to Rare: 60 seconds
  • Rare to Epic/Valuable: 90 seconds
  • Epic/Valuable to Legendary/Unique: 120 seconds
