Certain Items, Gear and Weapons, can be insured upon deployment. Insurance is used to compensate some value of lost items upon an untimely Foaming upon Fortuna III. There are two main types of insurance; Standard Insurance and Gear Salvage (Premium Insurance).

Insurance flow chart
Insurance flow chart.
  • Items may be insured before deploying.
  • Items with premium insurance keep their insurance after successful extractions.
  • Items lose insurance when:
    • while the player is alive: permanently dropped by the player, or
    • once the player has died: been picked up by a teammate (regardless of evacuating with the item).
  • Insurance is auto-claimed after 6 hours, or at the end of a server session.
  • Insurance is delivered to the Personal Quarters. Up to 20 insurance packages may be collected before the inbox is full.

Standard Insurance

Pay a fraction of an item's cost to receive a fair sum back in the case of an untimely death. Insurance payouts are delivered to the Personal Quarters.

  • Paid in K-Marks
    • Costs 20% of an items value.
    • Returns 50% of value is when lost.
    • 30% total return
  • Lasts one Match. The insurance will have to be bought again if the items survived the match.

Gear Salvage (Premium Insurance)

Insurance token icon

In case of a failed evac, items marked for salvage might be returned to the quarters if the items weren't looted. If the items were looted, a compensation of K-Marks will be returned to the player.

  • Paid in Aurum or Salvage Tokens
    • Aurum
      • Aurum insurance cost scales per-item insured at once.
      • Costs:
(n = the amount of items being insured)
  • Salvage Tokens
    • Each item in gear salvage can be insured at the cost of 1 token.
    • Insurance tokens are a currency/item earned through the Fortuna Pass.
    • Prospectors start with 5 tokens at the start of each season.
  • Despite the insurance being premium - players are returned the standard 50% of the items value, similar to Standard Insurance. Without the initial 20% cost, this is still 20% better than standard insurance (50% vs 30% total). Although you may get the item returned entirely, if left unlooted by other players; including team mates.
  • Unlike Standard insurance, weapon mods are also insured when paying for a weapons Gear Salvage.
